Classification of Nervous System – Easy Explanation for Students

The nervous system controls and coordinates body activities. It helps in communication between brain, spinal cord, and body parts.
Classification of Nervous System:
1. Central Nervous System (CNS)
Includes: Brain and Spinal Cord
Function: Controls thinking, memory, movement, and responses.
2. Peripheral Nervous System (PNS)
Includes: All nerves outside brain and spinal cord
Function: Connects CNS to body organs.
PNS is divided into:
a) Somatic Nervous System
Controls voluntary actions like walking, writing.
b) Autonomic Nervous System
Controls involuntary actions like heartbeat, digestion.
Autonomic Nervous System divided into:
Sympathetic Nervous System – Emergency response
Parasympathetic Nervous System – Rest and digest
